visual studio code - Angular language service in VSCode does not work because it is not an Angular project ('@angular/core/core.d.ts' could not be found)

Question

Somehow the Angular (v11.0.4) language service in VSCode does not work anymore. I get the following error message.:

I already tried:

rm -rf node_modules package-lock.json
npm cache clean --force
npm install

but it does not solve the problem.

What can I do to solve that issue?
