php - How to update and notify staff on customer order through Wordpress without page refresh?

Question

I'm trying to build PoS software for a restaurant with an online ordering system. What I'm having difficulty is figuring out how to update the restaurant side whenever a customer orders through our online menu.

I've got ajax working but only on the client-side to load the menu by segments. Not sure how I can update the staff page when an order is processed.

Is this possible with WordPress or would it be better to switch to something like Laravel or Node Js?
