timeout - use signal in odoo python method

Question

hello is it possible to add or set timeout using signal to check if the process in odoo python method takes too long (10 seconds), it will break?

like example i have python method:

def action_assign_picker(self):
    print("process assign picker")
    return True

i've tried add on odoo method but i got this error message ValueError: signal only works in main thread

where i need to add signal module or is it any way to set timeout on python method process? thanks
