I'm trying to add a global cli command that will run my node package with PM2
Here's the barebone setup:
Package.json
"bin": {
"clockin": "bin/start.sh"
},
"scripts": {
"start": "pm2 start index.js"
}
bin/start.sh
#!/bin/bash
npm run start
Then inside the package folder, I run
npm link
This adds clockin as a global executable, and it does run start.sh, but it links it to whichever directory I run the command from, instead of symlinking to the package folder.
If I run clockin in my username folder, instead of navigating to the package folder, I get an error saying no such file or directory, open '/Users/myusername/package.json'
Why is it not symlinking? I thought all bin commands installed through npm symlink to the package by default.
