blocking files from being uploaded to heroku from github

Question

I have a problem with my discord bot, because i use a json file with data, and the data is being added by the bot, but then i pull changes to the bot, it pulls the version of the file from github [empty] and the data disapears, so my question is, is there any way to dypass a file, so the data isn't pulled from github? like in github there is a way to block files being uploaded. I would really love your help. PolishKebab
