type conversion - Convert binary raster (.sdat) to outline of area in QGIS

all. I am working in QGIS 3.16.1. I am looking to convert a raster (.sdat) file that shows the binary area of suitable habitat for a species where points with a value of 1 (suitable habitat) are all that the raster consists of into an outline of the suitable habitat. I have tried to do this with the polygonize tool, but I was left with an outline of the suitable habitat AND an outline of the continents that I'm working with and an outline of a box all around the whole file. I'm not sure if this is a problem with my input file, or if I'm doing something wrong with how I'm trying to convert. Here is a screenshot of my binary file; the black area is all suitable habitat with a value of 1 in QGIS . Ideally, I will produce an outline all around the black. Here is a screenshot of what happened when I polygonized the first file and chose an outline. Thanks so much for all of your help!
