I got an error by this regular expression...

$strTmp = preg_replace('~(</CharacterStyleRange>(.*?)
*</CharacterStyleRange>)~gim ' , "</CharacterStyleRange>", $strTmp);

Error

Warning: preg_replace(): Unknown modifier 'g' in ....

Why?

g is implicit with preg_replace(). You don't need to include it.
