I want to generate a gpg secret key. I run this command as described online however it doesn't complete.

Within the help page I see that command doesn't exist.
-s, --sign make a signature
--clear-sign make a clear text signature
-b, --detach-sign make a detached signature
-e, --encrypt encrypt data
-c, --symmetric encryption only with symmetric cipher
-d, --decrypt decrypt data (default)
--verify verify a signature
-k, --list-keys list keys

I also tried doing it through the UI an the file that was generated contained by public and private key. the application that is suppose to use this file complained about that.
How else would I be able to generate the secret key?
