hook - isset() is not returning true - Wordpress

Question

I am trying to follow this post where I need to hook a function I want to trigger on a form submit. It is recommended that I hook the function on init and if isset() returns true execute the logic. However, the isset() is not returning true.

add_action('init', 'process_post');
function process_post(){
  if(isset($_POST['unique_hidden_field'])) {
    // process $_POST data here
  }
}
