Why does disk and network activity for .NET applications show up under the System process in Windows Resource Monitor?

Question

Whenever I compile a Windows .NET application and look at it through Windows Resource Monitor, its disk and network activity show up un the System process instead of the executable that I compiled. Why is that? Anyone know? And is there a change I can do to my code or while building so that the disk and network activity show up under my process?
