This code will prevent your iPhone from going to sleep while your app is running

// avoid sleeping when this application is running
UIApplication *application = [UIApplication sharedApplication];
application.idleTimerDisabled = YES;
// Or simpler
[[UIApplication sharedApplication] setIdleTimerDisabled: YES];
