xml - how can i reolve the error message on birt report

I'm trying to use the cascade group parameter option with multiple data sets and I have two separate parameter datasets the first is named app names while the second is App_Versions. the second parameter data set has an input parameter where clause in the query and it's linked to the app name parameter. I've followed the birt cascade group rpt design demo to the letter http://download.eclipse.org/birt/downloads/examples/reports/2.1/cascade/cascade.rptdesign ..but when I try to run the report I get this error,

org.eclipse.birt.report.engine.api.EngineException: An exception occurred during processing. Please see the following message for details: Data engine operation failed due to an unexpected exception. A BIRT exception occurred. See next exception for more information. There are errors evaluating script "params["AppVersions"]": Report parameter "AppVersions" does not exist.

please what does this error mean..what can I check and correct
