ubuntu - libudev.so.1: cannot open shared object file

Question

I've been using Ubuntu for WSL and started having problems about a month ago. I was getting some errors with apt commands and I was unable to fix things while following online solutions. Currently, any command like apt-get or apt install are all unable to run. All of the answers of how to reinstall libudev.so.1 involve using those commands so I am currently stuck. Example: $ sudo apt install --reinstall libudev1

apt: error while loading shared libraries: libudev.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
