I've avoided using Chrome on my Macs because I don't trust Google with my privacy.
However, my team wants to build an application off an open source project that's unfortunately optimized for Chrome users. So I'm interested in maybe using the browser OCCASIONALLY just for this work.
I am loathe though to even put Chrome code on any of my machines. Anyone know if installing Chrome also installs any background code that might collect data and send it to Google even if I'm not using the browser at the time? Or is the privacy risk only when the browser is actively (knowingly) loaded?
