I'm attempting to compile the Mozilla Browser of old. Not Firefox! So, I downloaded the source code from the official FTP server, and I've solved a few problems, but there's one that I've encountered that's seemingly impossible to solve. It needs an old version of GTK.
I've downloaded an old source tarball and tried to run it with all of the required libraries. Problem being that it needs PangoX, which I can't find a package for. No matter how much I try, I always encounter the same issue:
checking Pango flags... configure: error:
*** Pango not found. Pango is required to build GTK+.
*** See http://www.pango.org for Pango information.
*** For the framebuffer target, you will need to build
*** Pango with freetype support.
I don't want to give up. I want to succeed at something for once in my life. Can someone please help me either find a version of PangoX that GTK will use or give me some advice? I don't want to compile SeaMonkey, either. Thanks.
