Visual Studio not connecting to XCode

Question

This image shows that i need Xcode 8.0 or new to render the storyboard. However, this image shows that i have Xcode 12.3 found at the default location. Is there something I'm missing? I tried restarting visual studio, making any and all updates, and tried to locate the build log file with no success. I apologize if this is a bad question - I'm new to visual studio.
