You can get seconds between two moment objects using diff specifing 'seconds' unit as second parameter:

var mom = moment("20170703 00:00:00", "YYYYMMDD HH:mm:ss");
document.writeln(mom.fromNow());
document.writeln(mom.diff(moment(), 's'));
