search - Hugo ace-documentation lunr cannot find index.json when baseurl="/"

Question

I am testing hugo's ace-documentation theme. Search function works when running hugo server (localhost:1313) but not on the exported site ('public' folder). relativeURLs=true and baseURL="/". https://github.com/matcornic/hugo-theme-learn/issues/156 have similar problem but no solution.
