android - how i can use table from old my application in new version of my app

I wrote an app that uses a database with a table with 22 columns of data and I entered 300 records into it. for better performance, I recognize that my table in the database must have 30 columns. and wrote a new version of the application. Do I have to enter data first? Is there any solution that I do not have to enter data in first?
